Hi Teri,
I hope you won't lurk anymore and post a comment once in while! But it's always nice to find out someone's been reading even if they don't comment.

I think you've got a good point - sometimes people do get mean on QA, but I usually just ride it out the squabbles and delete their posts. Since I tend to focus on the positive, I guess I don't remember that aspect very much.

Thanks for reading!!

Hi Pam,
I'm a lurker that looks at your blog everyday. I just wanted you to know how much I enjoy it, and how much I enjoy your work.
I guess my impression of email lists is different. I am a total lurker on the Quilt Art list, because sometimes the people there get really nasty with each other which kind of squashes any kind of free expression of thoughts. I guess I like the one-sided, no anonymous comments allowed, venue.

It's bound to be a fun list - and I think you are right about a list vs. a blog. I tend to "lurk" a lot on most lists but will, occasionally, comment on a private email list.
Happy Thanksgiving !

I agree -- I've been facilitating an Artist Way group online with a group of friends -- I set it up on ning.com, a really (I thought) friendly blog-like social networking platform that lets you have individual pages, post photos etc. It's kind of a hybrid between a list and a blog format, but half (or more) of the participants found it too confusing and are just using a straight email list. I think those of us who have been (relatively) early adopters of these technologies really do sometimes forget that they can be intimidating to some... and age is not necessarily the determining factor. I think the email list will suit your purposed best, at least for now.
