Yes, that me in the brown cat-eye glasses:

And the blue cat-eye glasses….

Apparently, even as a child I couldn’t get away from large cartoon characters……

and showed an early interest in technology.

and as my mom always said, had fat knees.

Today we are also crating up one of Russ’s 7′x7′ neon sculptures to deliver to the Spiva Art Center on the way to the other show. His show, Brave Art, opens next week at the Spiva, so I’ll be posting more about that installation as soon as we get back from Modern Materials. Gotta run — have a great weekend, and hope to see some of you at the reception tonight!

Break A Leg tonite — I’m sure you’ll be great & the audience very receptive!!

And what cute little fat knees they are!

You are a cutie! Especially in those oh so fashionable glasses. I have powder blue cat eye glass that I call my church lady glasses because I envision my self clothed all in blue in matching dress, jacket, and hat.

    Good luck on your show!

Oh, that does take me back. I hadn’t thought about Gilda Radner’s church lady in a long time!

I’ve always loved chubby knees on a baby. It’s so sad that my own kid has always been tall and skinny with barely any pudge.

Ah!!! Love these photos! I had cat’s eyes too – I remember that they were very haute (or so I thought) in a smokey teal color. Should have held on to those!

What great photos. Thanks for sharing them !

You were a cute looking kid! Fabulous glasses too! Ah, now I can see all the younger versions of PaMDora in those photos.

Yep, I always think of myself as the girl in the cateye glasses!

    Hi Pam,
You were a much cuter kid than I was, but I had brown cat’s eye glasses to. I always wanted a blue pair, but my mom wouldn’t let me because she didn’t think they went with my brown hair. :(
It’s funny, but the older I get, the less frames I have. the last two pairs I’ve had have no rims at all. It makes me laugh when my two daughters have heavy dark brown frames that they wear for reading or instead of contacts. I wore frames like these when I was 16. They tell me they are ‘retro’. I feel so old….

I didn’t have to wear glasses until middle school and they were just plain black frames — nothing fancy like yours. But I do remember my mother and aunts in the cats eye glasses — so chic!

Funny how styles change. On day you’re in, the next day you’re out. Then you’re back in again:)

    Thanks for visiting!

You’re very brave – I have all my photos like that under lock and key! Of course, the frames weren’t anywhere as cool as cat eye!

It’s funny, it almost seems like someone else. Guess it was, it was so long ago.
Someday maybe you’ll get them out and have fun with them.

Such adorable photos! I used to have a pair of brown octagonal glasses… so flattering (not!) Maybe you could videotape a part of one of your talks for YouTube, that would be fun to see.
