Quilts in Times Square

This is so cool! Nine quilts from the exhibition Journey of Hope in America: Quilts Inspired by Barack Obama will be featured on the Jumbotron (don’t you just love that name) in Times Square next week.

The exhibit is curated by Dr. Carolyn Mazloomi and opens today at the National Afro-American Museum and Cultural Center in Wilberforce, Ohio, and runs to December 18, 2010.  There 95 quilt artists in the exhibition, many belong to SAQA or the QuiltArt list.  Congratulations if you are one!

Thanks to Deb Cashatt of Pixeladies for this news. The Pixeladies quilt is the first one on this mini-gallery on the Ohio history website.
